CHANGE OF FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FSSC 22000 SCHEME TO VER. 5

Change of food safety management system FSSC 22000 scheme to ver. 5

FSSC 22000 scheme ver. 5 which replaces FSSC ver. 4.1 was issued in May 2019. Changed scheme includes ISO 22000:2018 and FSSC 22000 Scheme version 5 / May 2019. Since 01.01.2020 QSCert conducts certification, recertification and surveillance audits just according to FSSC 22000 ver.5.Certified organizations should adopt their food safety management system according to FSSC 22000 ver.5 requirements.

New scheme brings changes related mainly to revision of ISO 22000 to version ISO 22000:2018:

  • understanding the needs and expectations of interested parties
  • enhanced focus on leadership and management responsibility
  • risks and opportunities control
  • changes in planning and operational control
  • changes in emergency preparedness control
  • changes in hazards control
  • changes in PRPs´ verification and hazard control plans
  • extended requirements for monitoring, measurement, analysis and evaluation
  • extended requirements for nonconformities´ and corrective actions´ control

PRP´s technical specifications for individual subcategories (ISO/TS 22002-1, ISO/TS 22002-4) remain without change.

There are only little changes in FSSC 22000 additional requirements from FSSC 22000 Scheme version 5 document/ May 2019. Part 2: Requirements for organisation to be audited, bod 2.5 FSSC 22000 Additional Requirements.
